Saint Joan of Arc Knights of Columbus Council# 10477
Welcome Rev. Michael Carlson as the new Pastor of St. Joan of Arc Parish. We look forward to your active participation in our Council. Best wishes to Rev. Daniel Keefe on his new assignment.

Thank you to all who participated in our annual Pasta Dinner. Thanks to you it was a huge success. A fun time was had by all.

Open Letter from our GK:

Dear Brother Knights,

I hope this letter finds you doing well. It is with pride and appreciation that I update everyone on your K of C Council 10477 recent accomplishments, upcoming planned activities for this year, and to thank all for your continued support and participation.

First, an update. Our council continued to participate in the annual Tootsie roll Drive held last fall. On February 10, a sold-out, fund-raising bus trip was sponsored by our council to the Mohegan Sun Casino, resulting in a profit of over $600. The council will sell Palm Crosses in March. Our largest fund-raiser of the year, our annual Pasta Supper, is scheduled for April. Our plan is to use this event as a K of C Council 10477 welcome for our new pastor, Fr. Mike Carlson, who will begin at SJA on March 5, 2012. A Knight hosted coffee-and, following the Stations of the Cross at SJA on March 2, is also planned.

In addition to our charitable efforts, your brother Knights continue to serve the Saint Joan of Arc parish community with coffee-and’s each month after Sunday Mass, as well as putting up the Christmas Tree lights, setting up the Manger, and helping when needed by our pastor.

All of these activities allow us the means to support our parish and worthwhile charities, which is our primary mission as Knights. However, without the continued support and interest of all active members, our success will be limited. Over the past several years, attendance at our monthly meetings and planned activities has gradually declined. We need your interest, energy, experience, and participation, as Knights of Columbus, to be the most effective K of C council 10477 we can be, and to fulfill the mission started by Father McGivney. I think that is why we all decided to become knights. For our active members, I thank you for your continued support.

If you have not been involved in council activities recently, then I invite you to attend our next monthly council meeting and welcome you to become engaged again. Meetings are still held on the first Wednesday of the month, starting at 7:30. Meetings are usually one hour.

I welcome the opportunity to discuss your ideas, plans to take the next degree, or activities that interest you over a cup of coffee after our next meeting.

Faithfully Yours,

Mike Moore
